LAWN MAINTENANCE SAFETY

Each year, many people are injured by lawn mowers and/or trimming equipment.  According to the US Consumer Product Safety Commission,

more than 60,000 injuries are treated by hospital emergency rooms each year because of unsafe operation of power lawn mowers and/or trimming tools.

It is very important to follow safety guidelines to prevent lawn mower-related injuries: such as:

  • Read owner’s manuals carefully
  • Inspect the lawn and your equipment before mowing or trimming
  • Never allow children to operate a lawn mower,
  • Wear proper Personal Protection Equipment (safety glasses, footwear, ear protection etc.)
  • Keep people away from mowing
  • More……..

You can find more detailed, practical and useful safety information relating to operate lawn maintenance equipment from following document by Texas A& M University.
