FRI President

Dr. A.L. (Pete) Parker, President (pete@fri.org)
Dr. Parker holds a BS in Chemical Engineering from New Mexico State University and MS and PhD degrees in Chemical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin.  Pete spent 32 years with Shell in various functions involving technology development and delivery, refining, separations, environmental technology and hydrocarbon logistics.  He joined FRI in 2007.

FRI Technical Staff

Mr. Michael R. Resetarits, Technical Director (resetarits@fri.org)
Mr. Mike Resetarits holds BS and MS degrees in chemical engineering, and also an MBA. Before joining FRI, he worked for Union Carbide, UOP and Koch-Glitsch. Thus far, most of his career was spent doing separations design and research, particularly in the field of distillation, absorption and extraction. He was awarded 17 distillation equipment patents. He has authored over 60 separation-related papers. 

Dr. Tony Cai, Ph.D., Senior Research Engineer (cai@fri.org)
Dr. Cai joined FRI in 1996 after teaching and research in the areas of chemical process design, analysis and control. He has experience in the areas of fluid dynamic analysis, structural analysis and hydraulic modeling. His contributions to FRI are in the areas of operational planning, data analysis and new model development. He has authored several publications dealing with this work.

Dr. Simon Chambers, Ph.D., Senior Research Engineer (schambers@fri.org)
Dr. Chambers rejoined FRI in 2010 after a first stint in 1993-1998 and 13 years working as a Process Engineer for Sulzer Chemtech NSA and Raschig-Jaeger.  He has experience in packing/tray RFQs, designs and tower internals installation supervision projects.  His contributions to FRI are in the areas of operational planning, data analysis, TC Action Item Projects and Video work.  He has authored several separations-related articles.

Mr. Dave Williams - Project & HSE Coordinator (williams@fri.org)
Mr. Dave Williams joined the FRI staff in 1999 as a Research Technician.  While in that role, he performed the majority of FRI’s instrumentation work.  In 2008, he was appointed to the position of Technician III.  In September of 2009, he was reassigned to the newly created Project & HSE Coordinator position.  His main functions include capital project management and safety programming.

Dr. Anand Vennavelli, Ph.D., Associate Research Engineer (vennavelli@fri.org)
Dr. Vennavelli joined FRI in 2011. He holds a BS in chemical engineering from Osmania University, India and MS and PhD degrees in chemical engineering from Oklahoma State University.  His experience includes three summer internships at ConocoPhillips, where he designed, installed, and maintained multivariable controllers (APC) on refinery units. His contributions to FRI are in the areas of model development and process control applications.

Mr. A.Y. Ogundeji - Associate Research Engineer (ogundeji@fri.org)
Mr. Ogundeji joined FRI in 2008 after attaining his BEng from the University of Wales Swansea and his MSC from Oklahoma State University, both in chemical engineering.  At FRI, Mr. Ogundeji is working on operational planning, data collection, data analysis and modeling.
