The Technical Committee of FRI is elected from the membership of the Technical Advisory Committee on which each member company has a representative. The committee works closely with the Technical Director of FRI to execute the research program approved by the Technical Advisory Committee. In addition, the TC reviews all technical work from the staff before release to the general membership. They also produce the Position Papers which outline research for future programs.
The size of the committee is typically ten members, one of which is the Chariman of both the Technical Advisory Committee and Technical Committee. In addition, one of the TC members is the Vice Chariman of both the Technical Advisory Committee and the Technical Committee. There are three representatives form each industry classification - petroleum, chemical and engineering. One from each category is elected each year. The Chairman, who may be from any industry classification, serves throughout a contract period.
The Technical Committee meets four times per year, two of which are in conjunction with the Technical Advisory Committee meetings in May and November.
