Did you know it only takes about an ounce of liquid in the lungs of the average 3-year-old child to cause drowning?

When our middle child was about 5 years old we took them to Galveston for a little summer vacation. She swam all day and had a great time. She was a good swimmer but she was shorter than the rest of us so the waves were constantly hitting her in the face.  Late that evening she started throwing up and kept throwing up for the rest of the night. Now I hear of “dry drowning” and looking back I now know I should have taken her to the ER.

Please check this page out for what you need to know about dry drowning.
