FRI recently completed annual fire safety and hands on training fire extinguisher training. The Administrative Staff also got involved in to increase awareness and develop common knowledge of fire safety for all our employees.

The Oklahoma State University provides excellent Fire Service training and education in our region (https://www.osufst.org/).  Their fire training center is designed to train for a full range of equipment and scenarios that might be encountered in industry, including fire in shelters, flammable liquids flowing in pools of water and pump fires.

Those who have taken fire extinguisher training are familiar with the four-step PASS method.  However, it is critical to determine whether it is safe to attempt fighting a fire with a portable extinguisher or when it’s better to evacuate immediately.  A summary of the highlights from the fire extinguisher training are provided below:
